What is Brick Buster?
Brick Buster is the latest game from TimWin. It is a fast and fun filled game in
which you battle the bricks
to attain the highest level you can. At your
disposal is a paddle and ball, lasers, plus a wide variety of Bonus Chips which
give you
various skills and tools. But be careful, some of the bonuses can be
deadly!
The Brick Buster Home Screen is shown below.
The game in play with a variety of bonus chips falling. Maroon bricks require
3 collisions to destroy them, red require two
and pink just one. Sound simple? Try it and see!
The Bonus Chips you will encounter
include:
+1 Life: Adds one additional life to the current game.
+2 Paddle Hits: Increases the number of collisions which need to occur before
the bricks begin to drop by two.
-5 Paddle Hits: Decreases the number of collisions which need to occur before
the bricks begin to drop by five.
+10 Laser Shots: Ten Lasers are added to your arsenal. If possible, save your
lasers for the more difficult rounds later in the game.
15 Sec Invulnerability: Balls cannot leave the playing field during periods of
invulnerability.
Darkness: Just what it sounds like! The playing field goes midnight black. Lasts
for one second.
Drop Bricks: Catching this bonus will cause the bricks to drop a notch.
Fast: The ball suddenly speeds up. All points double while in Fast mode.
Multiple Balls: Catching this chip will cause the ball to clone several times.
All balls accumulate points for as long as you can keep them in play!
Mystery: To solve the mystery, catch the bonus.
Narrow Paddle: Narrows the width of the paddle making it more difficult to catch
bonus chips and prevent the ball from leaving the playing field.'
Reverse: Look out! The paddle's controls are suddenly reversed.
Raise Bricks: Catching this bonus will cause the bricks to rise a notch.
Slow: The ball is slowed, but not for long. The ball will still accelerate the
longer it stays in play.
Super Ball: When in this mode the ball will take out any brick with a single
collision regardless of color.
Wide Paddle: Increases the width of the paddle making it easier to catch bonus
chips and prevent the ball from leaving the playing field.
Wrap Paddle: The paddle will wrap from the left side of the field to the right
and vice versa.
