Bar M Ranch…
Built in
1864, as a stage coach stop during the Civil War, the Bar M Ranch has been
providing one of the most rewarding guest ranch experiences in the west. The
tradition continues today, making it the ultimate destination for a fun,
relaxing and memorable western vacation. Everybody is welcome here at the Bar M,
from large families to individuals. The peace, quiet, and beauty of the ranch
also makes it an ideal location for
weddings,
corporate retreats,
meetings
and other
group events.
Hot Springs... For over a century, people have been coming to the springs, soaking in the hot mineral water for the medicinal properties it was believed to contain. The 40 x 60 pool has soothed many an aching muscle after an invigorating ride or hike. Kids love it! Horseback Riding... One of the ranch's main summer activities is horseback riding. From the herd of approximately 50 horses, one will be selected to suit your riding skills. It will be yours to brush, ride, and form a friendship with during the week. There are two rides daily that last about two hours each, up on the hill or along the river. Weather permitting, the ranch also offers an overnight campout and all-day lunch rides. Riding instruction is offered down in the corral. The Food... It's hard to imagine better, tastier home-cooked food than the mouth-watering meals served in the Main Ranch House. There's plenty to go around, no matter how hearty your appetite. Barbecues and eating outside on the deck provide an opportunity to enjoy great food and peaceful summer evenings. From homemade bread covered with the Bar M's famous raspberry jam to the fresh vegetables picked from the garden, tender meats, and delectable desserts, all your taste buds are sure to be satisfied! Now under new ownership... In July of 2002 the Bar M Dude Ranch was purchased by Kent and Shannon Madison.
